Suzy Krause is a writer and music lover from the Saskatchewan prairies.
She began writing 'in public' in 2008, when she started a blog about her life in the small prairie city of Regina. This soon led to other opportunities: a collaborative blog and book project about motherhood, writing about bands and concerts for several arts and entertainment websites, and even a weekly spot on a cable show talking about music.
In 2015 she finally started working on a novel, and Valencia and Valentine was published by Lake Union Publishing in 2019. It was inspired by her time as a debt collector and the song Heart by Stars and was an Amazon First Reads Editors' Pick. The audiobook, narrated by Janet Metzger, won an Earphones Award.
She wrote her second book, Sorry I Missed You (Lake Union), after walking past a house with three mailboxes that looked like it could possibly be haunted. It was published in 2020 and it, too, was an Amazon First Reads Editors' Pick and became a near-instant bestseller.
Her third book, I Think We've Been Here Before, was published by Radiant Press in Canada and Lake Union worldwide and was inspired by a recurring dream about the end of the world that was oddly comforting. It's been optioned for film and was shortlisted for four Saskatchewan Book Awards, and won the City of Regina Book Award. It was also chosen as an Amazon First Reads Editors' Pick.
She is currently working on her fourth book, for which she was a runner up in the City of Regina Writing Award.
Her books have been translated into Russian and Estonian and
she still blogs, sometimes, at Suzy Krause and the Skyscrapers.
